Michael Smith
President & COO

Michael Smith is President of PALNET. He has more than 18 years of senior-level management experience with some of the country’s top privately held organizations. His experience ranges from manufacturing and engineering to distribution and logistics to strategic business development, growth strategy implementation and corporate responsibility. He brings a rare combination of leadership, business acumen and creativity.

Michael lives with his wife and four children in Southern New Jersey. He is actively involved in the community and its many civic and nonprofit institutions where he serves as a board member, including Peter’s Pantry a local food bank and shelter, Boy Scouts of America and Little League baseball. His academic credentials include a B.S. in Business - Management from the University of Phoenix and APICS holding both CPIM and CIRM certifications.

Wayne Collier
VP Business Development

Wayne Collier is Vice President of Business Development at PALNET. He has over twenty years of experience in pallet management and brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the areas of sales, client relationships and asset management. 

Wayne’s prime responsibility is the development of new opportunities and expanding existing client relationships. His goal is to position PALNET as the leader in the pallet industry.

Wayne joined PALNET in 2006 and has generated national and regional accounts establishing PALNET as a leader in national pallet management arena. He is a recognized sales leader who attributes much of his success to his ability to listen intently to his clients, develop solutions and make their needs his #1 priority.

To accomplish his goals, he has assembled a strong core Sales/Service team with the ability to successfully and quickly identify opportunities, offer highly customized programs and solutions, and bring fresh perspectives to PALNET’s many clients.

With this career-long approach, Wayne has successfully developed and maintained long-standing relationships with the leaders of the retail industry and the owners of pallet companies nationwide. His educational background in sales and marketing supports and furthers his commitment to service each of his client’s current needs and plan for those yet to come.

In his personal life, Wayne is an advocate for adoption, foster parenting and child-related causes. He and his wife and children reside in middle Tennessee.

Scott Gittemeier
Director Operations

Scott Gittemeier is the Director of Operations of PALNET. He joined PALNET in 2007 and brings with him more than 10 years experience in the pallet industry with a strong emphasis in on-site management, plant operations, and business expansion through networking opportunities.

He is a former United States Marine Corps Logistician with more than eight years of service. After receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1998 he began his career in the pallet industry managing on-site operations, white wood sales, and logistics.

In 2009, Scott will be spearheading PALNET’s sustainability task group to identify additional reusable resources and viable outlets. Scott will also focus on partnering with other industry experts to expand PALNET’s reach and market share.

Scott is a Six Sigma trained Black Belt who is passionate about building strong and profitable business-to-business relationships in the pallet industry
