Corporate Responsibility

At PALNET USA, we take Corporate Responsibility seriously. Environmental stewardship and good Corporate Citizenship is an integral aspect of our daily business activities and practices.

Environmental Stewardship

We recognize that the protection of our environment is an obligation to the communities we operate in, our customers, our employees and the planet we all share. As such, we strive to reduce the environmental impact of everything we do -- from manufacturing and recycling to transportation to sales and service.

Last year alone, PALNET USA diverted 1.25 million tons of waste from area landfills. Our wood pallets and containers are made from renewable resources and are reusable, repairable, and recyclable. We are dedicated to responsible forestation and only buy from responsible sawmills.

Our pallets and containers use lumber that would otherwise be discarded because of its low cosmetic and commercial value even though it is strong and durable. When no longer useable, our pallets are turned into environmentally useful products such as landscaping and playground mulch, animal bedding and wood
stove pellets.

We believe that good environmental practices are good business practices. With our environmental commitment, we strive to be at the forefront of environmental responsibility while remaining true to our
core values.

Employment Practices

PALNET and all our member companies are strong supporters of best hiring practices and workforce compliance as outlined by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement department of Homeland Security (ICE). We also subscribe to the U.S. Government's IMAGE program, the ICE Mutual Agreement Between Government and Employers.

With the adoption of these important programs, PALNET and all our affiliate companies are committed to meeting and enforcing the standards set by IMAGE and the U.S. Government. As part of this program we use screening tools offered by the government to ensure that all our employees are lawfully authorized to work. We process 1-9 forms, maintain employment records, use e-Verify, a government on-line employment verification system, and comply with all U.S. employment laws.

Though not always adhered to by all members of the pallet industry, PALNET believes it is in the best interests of our nation, our clients and our company to support and uphold a "zero-tolerance"  standard in all our employment practices. To further ensure these standards, PALNET uses an independent third party auditor to monitor our employment practices and procedures across the board.

Especially in these times of heightened Homeland Security issues, the legality and verification of all employees is of utmost importance. PALNET believes in offering safe working conditions and opportunities for advancement to legal and eligible workers, and the assurance of this to our many clients. This is another way PALNET is redefining the pallet business.

The Life Cycle of a PALNET Pallet. The Greenest Link in your Supply Chain.

PALNET pallets are made from the unusable trim left over from the lumbering process which might
otherwise end up in landfills.
